USA, 2007, 1 hour 23 minutes
It was Leibovitz, of course, who photographed the Queen for the ‘less dressy’ moment that sparked the BBC scandal last year. But she also worked with Hunter S Thompson at Rolling Stone, photographed the Lennons, and went on tour with the Stones. A stint in rehab was followed by time at Vanity Fair, snapping the likes of Keith Richards, Donald Trump, and Patti Smith. The rolling slideshow of her photos provides stunning reminders that, sometimes, reputations are justified.

Richard Heatly will give a short talk and lead a discussion on ‘Photography and Celebrity’ at 6.30pm following the 5.00pm screening, touching on questions of how 21st ideas of public fame and reputation have been largely constructed around visual imagery and through the medium of photography.
