The Courtyard is the primary performing arts venue in Herefordshire presenting a dynamic mix of cultural activity all day, every day and welcoming over 350,000 visitors every year. The Courtyard Café Bar is at the heart of our public areas and offers everything from artisan coffee and homemade cake to pre-show dining, champagne and canapés.  Aside from serving customers attending The Courtyard, the Café Bar also aims to attract customers in its own right.

We are seeking a cheerful and energetic individual for the role of Senior Bar Supervisor.  Our perfect candidate will be someone who thrives in a busy, customer-focused environment and has the ability to lead and motivate staff.

Are you passionate about the arts and would you like to gain some hands-on events management and fundraising experience in a popular and busy regional community arts venue?

The Courtyard is offering a six-month voluntary opportunity (up to 16 hours a week) from September 2017 to work alongside the Fundraising Manager, within the Communications team, to assist with planning, marketing and running fundraising events and activities, as well as assisting with fundraising administration functions eg organising raffles.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone whose career aspirations lie in arts administration especially fundraising, communications and events management,
and will enable them to gain invaluable hands-on experience within a popular mid-scale arts centre.

This is a volunteer role but basic travel expenses will be paid (public transport or car mileage) and lunch will be provided in The Courtyard’s Café Bar on the days the volunteer is assisting.  If required, car parking will also be provided foc in The CY car park and this will be in the form of a temporary car park pass.  The volunteer will also be entitled to the staff rates for soft drinks, teas and coffees from the bar.

We are seeking cheerful and hard-working individuals aged 18+ to work in our busy café bar serving customers, clearing tables and generally providing excellent standards of customer service. We need people to cover all shifts – weekday and Saturday daytimes and evenings and who can start as soon as possible. Please note these are not summer jobs; we need people who can work beyond September 2017.

We are seeking an experienced freelance person to act as Wardrobe (Costume) Co-ordinator / Dresser 1 for our 2017 panto, Sleeping Beauty.  Duties are as follows:-

  • To oversee all aspects of the wardrobe department for The Courtyard’s pantomime including all hired costumes.
  • To undertake, or organise for running repairs and maintenance as required.
  • To undertake or oversee all laundry requirements as appropriate.
  • To be present for all rehearsal and productions as contracted.
  • To undertake and oversee all production dressing requirements.
  • To attend any meetings as called.

Rehearsals commence on 7 November and the performance dates are 25 November 2017 to 6 January 2018.
