Panto_Demic! available online

With the support of The Conquest Theatre and Bromyard Council, Courtyard Community Education Officer Becky Cook has created the short film #Panto_demic! Encapsulating the wit, humour and fun of seasonal pantomimes, #Panto_demic! brings a brand-new story safely to audiences of all ages.

This family film came about as local theatres were forced to find alternative ways to bring the seasonal favourite to audiences. Director and writer Becky Cook said:

We were determined to bring a little piece of familiarity to the community during the festive season. Pantomimes are a tradition enjoyed by the whole family; they entertain and lift our spirits which is something we all need during this challenging time!

The pantomime, which was performed at The Conquest, was filmed to ensure it could be enjoyed in local schools, care homes and family homes.

The project was created with the collaboration of volunteers and professional artists.

We wanted to showcase the wonderful talent within the amateur dramatic group at The Conquest whilst supporting local professional artists. This year has been particularly devastating for the arts industry and we cannot lose our local talent.

Local musician Joe Standell produced the songs, Kie Cummings filmed and edited whilst Courtyard Youth Theatre alumni Zakk Kaye produced the photography.

The film is still available to rent at £7 for thirty days from Vimeo. All money raised will go back into The Conquest theatre and support future community projects.
