Roald Dahl Week 2009

This February we ran Herefordshire's first Roald Dahl week in which over 1300 young people from across the county participated in workshops with our professional drama practitioners.

Nine of the county schools took part ranging from Reception to Year 6 with feedback from both pupils and teachers being extremely positive. Next year we willl run the project again, but probably spanning over a month so that we can work with more schools delivering workshops to more pupils.

These workshops once again highlighted that drama is a fantastic medium in which to explore literacy with all pupils including SEN children and some that are falling behind. Many teachers commented on some of the pupils that were able to "come out of their shell" during the workshop and giving them more confidence in exploring literacy creatively!
