'Talking in Clay' Exhibition

‘Talking in Clay’ is an exhibition of artworks in clay by international, national and Herefordshire artists.  Clay is one of the most fundamental materials in society. We eat and drink from it, rely on it in engines, on rails and in mobile phones, to name a few. It is a highly practical medium, its material qualities and technical properties are known and utilised widely. Creatively speaking, clay is strangely a thornier subject. This exhibition gives a snapshot of the nature of ceramic art now and will highlight its strength as a creative medium.
Abstract to figurative to function to installation, the work in this show will reflect the activity in the contemporary ceramics world and the creative breadth that clay can cover. Jo Davies has brought together participating artists for what will be a breathtaking exhibition of work with related events during H.Art Week in September. The exhibition has been made possible with the support of The Courtyard, Hereford Council and Arts Council England.
