The Age of Stupid (12A)

Director: Franny Armstrong

Starring: Pete Postlethwaite

Uk, 2008, 1 hour 29 minutes

A powerful, shocking, in some ways quite extraordinary documentary that carries on from where An Inconvenient Truth left off. This takes on climate change, consumerism and the need for massive personal and social change if we are to avert disaster. In the devastated world of 2055 an archivist, played by Pete Postlethwaite, orchestrates telling, well-chosen clips from the present day and asks the question: “Why didn’t we stop climate change when we still had the chance?” A truly radical, thought-provoking film, this is simply unmissable for anyone who cares about the future of the planet, his or her children or grandchildren.
