Borrowing from classics of Hollywood’s golden age, the fourth and final Shrek film is a gag-filled comedy that builds to a furious battle between good and evil. Now a celebrity family man-ogre, Shrek flees the boredom of domesticity in his swamp, by signing over one day of his life to vain elfin dictator, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek is sent back to a time when ogres commanded by Fiona (Shrek’s future wife) are at war with broom-riding witches led by Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek faces the task of undoing all that he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world, and reclaiming his One True Love.
