Easter 2019 Holiday Family Fun

The Courtyard is the place to be this Easter Holiday with a whole host of activities for all of the family to enjoy.

A Brief History Of Music

Kicking off the holidays GreenMatthews (who brought us A Christmas Carol in Concert in 2018) will be taking audiences on a musical journey through the ages in A Brief History of Music on Friday 12 April at 7.45pm. The show takes in 600 years of musical history in 90 minutes, starting in the Middle Ages and ending up right in the 20th century.

Lego Wizard of Oz workshop 1024x600

Following this on the morning of Saturday 13, families can enjoy a special Wizard of Oz themed Lego workshop, delivered by Bricks2Learn. The session will include opportunities to build the Emerald City, Munchkin Land or the Yellow Brick Road.

Egg & Spoon

Patrick Lynch (of CBeebies fame) returns to The Courtyard with Lyngo Theatre’s production of Egg & Spoon on Friday 19 April at 11am. This interactive performance is suitable for little ones from ages 1+ and is the perfect gentle introduction to the magic of theatre.

Lego Movie 2How To Train Your Dragon - Hidden World

For film fans, two long awaited family sequels will be hitting the big screen in the Easter break. Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (U) promises to take audiences on an action packed adventure (Sat 13 – Thu 25 April) and Hiccup returns to the screen in How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (PG) to fulfil his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia (Fri 19 – Sat 27 April). Both films have a Family Saturdays screening with free, pre-film activities to take part in from 10.30am. There will also be a Relaxed Screening of Lego Movie 2 on Thursday 18 April at 2.30pm.

Wizard Of Oz

Culminating the Easter Holiday fun, The Courtyard’s own Junior Youth Theatre will be performing The Wizard of Oz (Wed 24 – Sat 27 April, 2.30pm & 7pm). Whilst remaining faithful to the classic, The Courtyard Youth Theatre have put their unique stamp on the production. Audiences can look forward to leather jacket wearing flying monkeys, trees with attitude and a Glinda that personifies girl power.
