Audio Description

Audio Described Logo

Audio description for the visually impaired is available on selected live events and film screenings. Audio Description consists of a narrator talking through the performance or film, describing what is happening on the stage or screen during the natural pauses in the dialogue through a discreet headset.

Audio description for film is pre-recorded and available dependant on the film’s distribution company.

Audio description for stage performances is fed live to your headset.

Our Audio Description headsets are easy to use and available on free loan from Box Office, call 01432 340555 for more information.

Audience members who wish to use the Audio Description service are asked to notify Box Office when booking tickets. On the day of the performance, a headset will be available to be collected before the show starts. Audience members using AD should go into the theatre at least 15 minutes before the show is due to start to listen to show notes before curtain up.

Our Infra-red Audio Enhancement and Audio Description headsets work better in some of our Main House seats than others. Use the map below to inform your booking choice if you’ll require this equipment.
