Courtyard Summer Fundraising Success!

On Sunday 21 August 2022, Joanna Cobb, Chair of The Courtyard Trust Board, opened up the grounds to her beautiful home at Swinmoor Farm for a very special Courtyard fundraising event, raising over £2000!

Theatre company The Last Baguette, brought their fun, family adventure show to Swinmoor for The Courtyard’s Summer fundraising event. Described as a deliberately anarchic re-telling of the Arthurian Legend. With live music, physical comedy, lo-fi acrobatics, and some silly jokes.

The Last Baguette makes entertaining and accessible work for family audiences and is company in residence at Pound Arts, Corsham. The company was formed from a shared love of theatre, bakery and humour in Paris.

On the day we held our breaths for sunshine, and the weatherman delivered! Courtyard Food & Drink were there with yummy homemade cakes and other goodies.

With over 170 people in attendance, we raised over £2000!

Thank you to CXCS, Origin Fertilisers and Cobb Agri for supporting the event!

Joanna Cobb said:

“King Arthur was a delightful Summer afternoon’s entertainment with the super backdrop of Swinmoor Farm’s garden and lake. Over 170 families enjoyed a light-hearted and very British event, with delicious food and drink provided by The Courtyard alongside a fun and magical re-telling of this classic tale.”

Support from events such as this are vital to help The Courtyard to continue delivering creative arts activities across the county. The Courtyard’s innovative Education and Outreach programmes are at the heart of our mission to offer quality creative experiences to the whole community. As well as developing and nurturing the next generation of artistic talent. These range from the annual family festival to increasing accessibility for those with additional needs. Plus, we work with care homes to deliver creative workshops to residents.
