Talks
Event has passed.
Duration: 140 minutes

In 2018, Army Captain Louis Rudd MBE was the first Briton to complete a solo, unsupported crossing of Antarctica.

Wendy Searle managed Lou’s 925-mile Spirit of Endurance expedition and is now planning her own epic 700-mile race across the frozen wastes. She is planning to break the women’s world speed record for skiing solo to the South Pole, with Rudd as her expedition manager.

Join Louis Rudd & Wendy Searle for a unique evening recounting an historical story. Hear all about the epic solo-trek; Louis will recount the most challenging adventure and Wendy will offer behind the scenes insights, including the logistics and psychology of keeping her close friend safe and sane, as well as her own upcoming expedition.

“The most epic polar competition since Roald Amundsen and Robert Falcon Scott raced to the South Pole in 1911.” National Geographic
