A classic feel-good drama with some favourite faces, this is the story of rediscovering fun and yourself in later life. On the eve of retirement a middle class, judgemental snob Sandra (Staunton) discovers her husband has been having an affair with her best friend. Shocked, she finds her world turned upside down as she approaches the ‘third age’ of her life. Unable to deal with what she considers the shame of her predicament, she goes into exile with her estranged bohemian sister, Bif (Imrie), who lives on an impoverished inner-city council estate and is a keen member of a senior citizens dance group based at London’s Sadlers Wells. With new friend Jackie (Lumley), and a chance encounter with Charlie (Spall), can Sandra let the rhythm in, and cast off the prudish habits of a lifetime?
