Handel’s Messiah by Candlelight – Hereford Choral Society
“Christmas doesn’t start until Hereford Choral Society has sung Messiah”, or words to that effect, are frequent comments following this atmospheric, candlelight concert. Add in the evocative sound of the period instruments, played by Marches Baroque, and you have an unforgettable experience.
For this concert Hereford Choral Society are pleased once again to be joined by the vibrant young voices of Hereford Sixth Form College and Hereford Cathedral School.
Much-loved since that performance at Neal’s Musick-Hall in Dublin’s Fishamble Street, Messiah has been at the heart of the choral society tradition for over 250 years.
