London Mozart Players.
LMP are delighted to be returning to the Courtyard with a sparkling concert of core repertoire, more recent works and an exciting young soloist, Tim Ridout. Composed in a minor key, Haydn’s ‘Trauer’ symphony was one of the first masterpieces of its time, inspiring movement towards the Romantic era. Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for solo violin and viola is a firm favourite with audiences, featuring LMP’s illustrious leader Ruth Rogers as soloist, with the viola part played by Tim Ridout, who will also step forward for Dobrinka Tabakova’s melodic, exuberant and surprising ‘Suite in Old Style’. Arnold’s Sinfonietta No.1 completes the programme, with lush harmonies and hunting calls conjuring quintessential British scenery.
