Bach, Mass in B Minor – Hereford Choral Society

Thursday 1 January 1970
Duration: 130 minutes

At Hereford Cathedral.

Bach’s iconic Mass in B minor has such a status in the choral canon that it is often simply referred to as ‘The B minor Mass’ without any need to mention the composer at all. It is a glittering compilation of J S Bach’s ‘greatest hits’, completed towards the end of his life, including several skilful revisions of music from his earlier works.

Widely regarded as one of the pinnacles of Western art, it is as equally fulfilling to hear as it is demanding to perform and will be a great way to end Hereford Choral Society’s season.
