Director: Anne Fontaine
Starring: Finnegan Oldfield, Grégory Gadebois, Vincent Macaigne
Duration: 115 minutes

A life-affirming tale of being oneself, this is a coming-of-age story that shows brutal starts can end in beauty. Marvin lives in the Vosges Mountains, in a very humble social class where culture is non-existent and human interactions are brusque. Delicate and shy, he is ridiculed at home and at school, subjected to homophobic harassment, until through a series of connections he finds his way into the theatre. Championed by stars including Isabelle Huppert, playing herself, Marvin finds his feet in this modern day fairytale.

“The filmmaker very skilfully weaves a tale where the actors deliver exceptional performances.”
