This is a great opportunity to be part of the first ever abseiling event at The Courtyard, and also a fantastic way to fundraise for us by abseiling down the building. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, so why not be part of something special? Abseilers will pay a non-refundable £25 registration fee to secure their place which covers the cost of the abseil with a promise to raise a minimum of £100 (due to The Courtyard before the abseil).
We have extended the deadline to 25 August to give you more time to register and raise the money to take part!

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can take part in the Abseil?
We’re looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in our abseil down The Courtyard. You should be at least 14 years old, and if you’re younger than 18, you must have parental or legal guardian consent at registration to take part. Please contact us if you have a thrill seeker under 14 years old that would love to do the abseil. Consent forms for young people will need to be completed and returned with the registration fee.
Our partners at The Boulder Barn will need to know about any medical conditions to ensure they can support your individual needs. If you have any questions about mobility requirements, please get in touch. Our maximum weight limit is 18 stone.
What if the event cannot go ahead on 9 September or the location and dates change?
Suppose the event is cancelled or postponed due to extreme weather or some other circumstances. In that case, we’ll transfer your place to a new date or location. We’ll consider refunds on an individual basis.
What does my registration cover?
Your £25 registration fee will be used to cover the costs of running the event. All your fantastic fundraising will support The Courtyard and our community engagement programme.
Can I fundraise offline?
Of course! You can download a sponsor form for recording any offline donations you receive. Remember to ask for a complete home address and postcode for us to claim Gift Aid. It will make your fundraising go 25% further at no extra cost to you. The money will need to be paid to The Courtyard Box Office by Friday 25 August.
Do I need to set up my own fundraising page?
Yes please! We know people like to use different platforms, but we can provide images and links if you need them. We recommend personalising your page as much as possible to engage readers and encourage people to sponsor you. If you don’t want to fundraise online, that’s fine, as long as you pay the registration fee and raise at least another £75 by Friday 25 August.
Can I choose when I abseil?
We have slots available from 9am to 4.30pm on the day. You will be asked to choose your preferred time slot as part of the registration process. It’s first-come, first-served, so make sure you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
How long does the abseil last?
You’ll need to arrive at least 15 mins before your allocated start time to check-in, gear up, and train before heading to the roof for your big moment – the abseil! The descent itself usually lasts 5 to 10 minutes; the memories will last a lifetime.
Can my friends and families watch?
Yes! We really hope that your friends and family can join you on the big day to give you that all-important cheer as you brave new heights for The Courtyard.
What can I wear on the day?
You should wear comfortable clothing on the day and sensible, soft-soled shoes. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, why not consider fancy dress? But no capes!
Will I have fun?
Absolutely! Nothing beats the feeling of helping other people – and that’s just what you’ll be doing by taking on our abseil. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!
