One stormy day a young farm girl, Dorothy Gale, decides to run away from home but she is swept away by a tornado and finds herself in the magical land of Oz.
With her faithful dog Toto at her side, she sets off on an adventure to find her way back home.
She must journey along the yellow brick road to the Emerald city to ask the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard for help.
Along the way she makes some rather strange but wonderful friends, the Scarecrow who would like a brain, a Tinman who wishes he had a heart and the cowardly Lion who just needs some courage.
The friends face many dangers along the way, mostly sent by the Wicked Witch of the West who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s ruby slippers. This faithful adaptation by the Royal Shakespeare Company features all the most beloved songs and moments from the 1939 classic film, brought to life onstage by The Courtyard’s Junior Youth Theatre.
