Really Big Pants Theatre Company Presents
Wonky

by Joe Bromley and Willow Nash
A show for ages 6+
Running time 55 minutes

Really Big Pants are back – and ready to cook up a storm!

Wonky tackles bullying and self-esteem via rap (and wonky vegetables) for Y2-6 (ages 7-11). Wonky uses theatre and storytelling to encourage kindness, and helps children celebrate their differences. Using PSHE and relationships education, the show will help youngsters tackle bullying and peer pressure, and cultivate a healthy body image and self-esteem, whilst learning more about nutrition and where their food comes from.

Take a large handful of nutrition, a healthy dash of PE, a hearty portion of PSHE, and mix them together with (clean) green fingers. Bake for 55 minutes against the glittering backdrop of a dance competition. Add a dollop of peer pressure, serve with some celebrity culture and a garnish of gender equality… et voilà!

Can you help Olive and Messy Jesse save the day as they encounter top chef Monsieur Nincompoop, cool rapper Rapper Scool Yo, and the enigmatic pop star Solar Pa’nelle – as Olive’s so-called best friend Trixie tries to thwart them at every turn? Plant a seed… and see what grows.

There will be cooking! There will be dancing! There will be rapping! Not all at the same time.

A show about being different. Being wonky. Being YOU.

We’ll be signing copies of our accompanying illustrated book of poems POETRY VERSUS POTTERY afterwards – come and say hello!

Girls can be chefs and boys can dance
We’ve got to believe and take a big chance
Just try, don’t be shy; I’m sure that you’ll fly
