Filming day for The Secret Garden

Last week we took a trip to The Laskett Gardens to film a trailer and take photos for our upcoming in-house production of The Secret Garden. We worked with film maker and photographer Kie Cummings, and models Ellie, Finn and Laura. The venue was beautiful, filled with luscious green lawns and flowers, and the sun paid a visit for the majority of the day!

We started the day filming inside the The Laskett house, enjoyed a delicious lunch with the cast, crew, and venue staff, and then spent the afternoon filming throughout the acres of gardens.

The Laskett Gardens

The Laskett Gardens, up until earlier on this century, was one of England’s most hidden and private gardens. Private it still remains but now it is shared more widely than ever before with visitors coming from all over the world to see one of the most remarkable and inspirational gardens in England. The Laskett, set in the idyllic countryside of Herefordshire on the Welsh borders, are the creation of Sir Roy Strong CH and his late wife Julia Trevelyan Oman CBE. The gardens – created from a bare field – were begun in 1974 and have continued to evolve ever since. (thelaskett.org.uk)

We had three wonderful evenings of auditions for The Secret Garden, and the director, David Durant, has said the calibre was extremely high. With over 60 people auditioning, it was great to see so much interest! Full casting for our upcoming pro-am will be revealed on social media shortly.
