First Herefordshire Volunteers’ Fair held at The Courtyard!

The building was full of local organisations!

Over 40 Herefordshire voluntary organisations attended the county’s first Volunteers’ Fair on Wednesday 7 June. The event was hosted by The Courtyard and run in collaboration with hvoss (Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Services). It was an opportunity during National Volunteers Week to share the work of local organisations and showcase the wide variety of opportunities which are available for people wanting to take up volunteering.

Representatives of charities came from across the county, with both large and small organisations setting out their stalls across different areas of the building. Everyone who attended enjoyed the networking opportunities as well as encouraging volunteer sign ups. With everything from a sword bearer from Hereford City Council to a real motorbike in the foyer of The Courtyard courtesy of the Severn Freewheelers, there was plenty going on for people to see while attending the event.

It is hoped that after the success of this first Volunteers Fair it will go on to be an annual event and encourage more individuals to join the growing number of volunteers in Herefordshire.
