HMTC present Sister Act!

This November, Hereford Musical Theatre Company will present Sister Act at The Courtyard. With rehearsals already underway, Director Richard Davies took some time to chat to us about the production (and tell us about a special deal for early birds who book their tickets before the end of April!)

Hereford Musical Theatre Company was founded in 1898, known then as Hereford Amateur Operatic Society and has been putting on high quality, award winning shows ever since! Recent productions include Oliver, Witches of Eastwick, Avenue Q, 42nd Street, Wizard of Oz and Little Shop of Horrors to name but a few. We have a thriving youth group, and the company boasts members from age 8 to 85!!

In our 119th year we are all excited to be staging Sister Act, a fun, energetic, feel good musical comedy based on the 1992 motion picture.

“I am so excited to be directing this fun, feel good show for the company together with our hugely talented choreographer, Sarah-Jane Matthews and amazing Musical Director, Jenni Axtell. It’ll be hard work with, 6 part harmonies, funky dancing, action and comedy moments. The result will be well with it though!”

Set in 1977, Deloris, a wannabe night club singer witnesses a murder and goes to the police who hide her in a convent.  Here the fun begins as she teaches the choir how to sing and dance 70’s funk and soul style!! In doing so  raises the fortunes of the church and blowing her cover in the process! Packed full of great songs and dance, Sister Act will have you dancing in the aisles and rejoicing in the power of sisterhood.

As a special early bird promotion, buy your tickets before Sunday 30 April to get a 10% discount!

Hereford Musical Theatre Company’s Sister Act will be in The Courtyard Main House from Tuesday 7 – Saturday 11 November for full show times and booking information please click here or call The Courtyard box office on 01432 340 555
