SUMMER FILM: A TREAT FOR ALL THE FAMILY

The summer holidays have finally arrived and The Courtyard have a fantastic selection of film on offer throughout the summer to keep the kids occupied.

The much-anticipated return of the mischievous minions, Despicable Me 3 (U) (28 July –3 Aug) hits The Courtyard screen with laughs for big and little kids. Gru and the Minions meet a new (if slightly familiar) face: Gru’s identical twin brother Dru. He’s successful, handsome and incredibly wealthy, but fixated on his family’s legacy of being supervillains, and he wants Gru’s help…

Fireman Sam
Fireman Sam battles Alien activity

Another favourite returns in Fireman Sam: Alien Alert! (U) (4 & 5 Aug), which sees Sam getting to the bottom of the extra-terrestrial oddities occurring in Pontypandy. With UFO sightings and mild peril on the increase, Sam sets off to find out what’s behind all this sudden alien activity.

He’s not the only hero around either as Captain Underpants (U) (18 – 24 Aug) flies onto screen in a raucous comedy telling the story of two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold, who hypnotise their principal into thinking he’s the ridiculously enthusiastic and incredibly dim-witted superhero.

Rock Dog 800x600
Bodi the Tibetan Mastiff in Rock Dog

From super-hero to super-musician, Rock Dog (PG) (25 & 26 Aug) follows Tibetan mastiff Bodi, who wants to leave his home duties behind to become a rock n roll star in the city.

For those bigger kids, War for the Planet of the Apes (12A) (28 July – 3 Aug) reprises the successful franchise with much more than just another monster movie. Caesar and his apes face a deadly conflict with an army of humans, led by a ruthless colonel.

Futuristic sci-fi thriller Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (12A) (18 – 24 Aug) is set in the 28th century and follows special operatives Valerian and Laureline as they work together to maintain order throughout the human territories.
