The Courtyard Cinema shares its success in London

Earlier this month, Cinema Development and Programming Coordinator Ethan Hargreaves was invited down to London for the Independent Cinema Office Screening Days to talk about the last few years of cinema at The Courtyard. Presented to the ICO and cinema workers from around the country, Ethan’s talk surrounded the programming developments that the cinema has made to help produce the cinema’s strongest year in over a decade. Additional daily screenings, opening on a Sunday, diversifying the programme were all developments to share the progress of.

Of note was the growth of RADIX Film Club, The Courtyard’s monthly gathering for cinephiles which began in May 2024. Averaging 30 attendees in 2024, the club now regularly hosts audiences of 50+ for unique and unusual pieces of cinema from around the world. We’re incredibly proud of the cinema’s development in recent years, and the communities that it is fostering.
