The Courtyard Motor Show 2022 brings in the cars and the crowds

The Courtyard Motor Show brought in the cars and the crowds this July!

It was wonderful to see The Courtyard Motor Show bringing both the cars and crowds this summer. After the success of Courtyard Classics in 2021, the Motor Show returned on 24 July 2022 with a great array of vehicles. Despite the forecast of damp weather, the carpark was filled to capacity with cars and bikes dating from pre-war to the 2020s.

Over 60 vehicles were on display, with plenty of time and space to give visitors and owners the chance to look round, swap stories and peer under the bonnet at some amazing engines. The event also showcased the future through hybrid and electric vehicles, with particular thanks to Ponthir Group for sponsoring the event and bringing along a hybrid and EV Fiat 500. These were displayed alongside a 1930s Topolino 500 A and a 1960s classic 500, described as “Fiatvolution” by one visitor!

Herefordshire Motor Club were in attendance, sharing their work supporting rallying in the county and beyond; a big thankyou to them for coming. Members of HR4K_MOBO were also out in force, both exhibiting and visiting.

Particular highlights were the military vehicles which were popular with the younger visitors, and two Italian rarities which aren’t often seen on the road: the De Tomaso Pantera and Lancia 037.

It has to remembered that The Courtyard is a charity, and the Motor Show was also a fundraising event to help our work. Around £2,000 was raised on the day, which is a tremendous boost as well as people having a great time. There has been some great feedback from the exhibitors, and we are now looking forward to planning another Motor Show in July 2023. Watch this space!
