Why We’re Supporting The Courtyard

The Mind the Gap! Campaign is aiming to raise £35,000 to offset the loss of Council funding, which is being withdrawn in April 2016. My wife Daphne and I were only too pleased to give a donation to this worthy cause and urge all those who love The Courtyard as much as much as we do to give as generously as possible. Over the years, we have made a lot of friends and acquaintances from our association with the Arts Centre.

We are also Life Patrons, enjoying monthly coffee mornings with like-minded folk. Daphne and I were Stewards for some ten years before this. This meant that we saw a huge number of different shows. It was amazing to see the variety on offer, and there is definitely something for everyone. A few things stand out as being particularly memorable: the opening night of The Courtyard with Cabaret, afternoon tea with Lorraine Kelly, the in-house production of both Oliver and The Sound of Music, not to mention all of the wonderful Youth Theatre productions.

Take time to look at the programme of events. I am sure there will be something for you. Without The Courtyard, I can honestly say, our lives would be that much poorer.

Please support your local Arts Centre and help The Courtyard create a strong creative future for all members of our beloved community. Thank you!
