A Very Charitable Christmas!

Herefordshire Riding For The Disabled were delighted to be approached by The Courtyard to be their Christmas Pantomime Charity Partner this year. Both organisations are charities whose ethos benefits the local community, one through the arts and the other through horsemanship.

The simple pleasure of being with horses is the cornerstone of all of the activities at our Centre in Holme Lacy. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for disabled and disadvantaged people in our local community, from very young children, to older adults well into retirement. Our therapeutic activities include riding, carriage driving and horsemanship in a safe, secure and compassionate environment. All of our staff and volunteers are continuously trained and treat everyone as individuals, working with an open heart and giving so much of themselves. It is our wonderful horses and ponies, however, who provide the “magic” in what we do.

In order to fund the continuation of the Centre, we rely upon donations, sponsorships, legacies, fundraising events and grant applications. Our annual target is £100,000 and we always need more to help to make this happen. Everyone who comes to the Centre, whether they are staff, volunteers, clients or visitors ALL benefit in some way. It is a wonderful place to spend time and definitely boosts your wellbeing. Why not come along and see for yourselves?

The Courtyard have a huge following and it is wonderful to work with their team, who are experts in their field and all very professional and motivated. Between us, we have made some exciting plans to take ‘Steady Eddie’, our specially designed mechanical horse, to join the cast at The Courtyard. For a suggested donation of £3 to the Christmas Appeal, we invite you to enjoy a ride on the lovely Steady Eddie on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, or on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December.
