#AnACE2017 – Creative Ageing

As the chaos of Christmas begins to subside and 2018 rapidly approaches, we thought we would take some time to look back over some highlights of our Courtyard year. The Creative Ageing Team are very active across Herefordshire but did you know that in 2017 their reach and influence went not only regional but also international?!

This month, Penny our Adult Participation Manager, was invited to speak at UK/KOREA Creative Ageing conference in South Korea to discuss the way in which The Courtyard promotes Creative Ageing. As well as speaking at international conferences, The Creative Ageing Team have also travelled across the country to deliver talks and seminars about their work. They have also worked with many other organisations to help them develop a dementia friendly approach to customers. It is this extensive knowledge sharing that led to the creative ageing team being shortlisted for the Putting Herefordshire On The Map Award at Hereford Bid Awards this year.

In May, The Creative Ageing team held their annual Remember Me event. The day is a celebration of all that The Courtyard provides for people living with Dementia, their family members, friends and carers. BBC Midlands news reporter Satnam Rana came along for the day and spoke to Hannah from local organisation Young Dementia – the interview and coverage of the day was then broadcast on the 6pm news.
