Behind The Scenes: Aladdin Photo Shoot

Friday 26 August saw the photo shoot of this year’s Pantomime, Aladdin, take place. Members of the Marketing and Technical teams, joined by photographers Tom Middleton, Aneirin Jones, and 3 members of the cast; Dario Cacioppo (Aladdin), Madi MacMahon (The Genie) and newcomer to The Courtyard Phyl Harries (Widow Twankey) travelled to different locations in the Symonds Yat area for the photo and video shoot.

Starting off at the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, this gave us a fantastic Palace Garden feel with members of the cast befriending various exotic butterflies to great effect. Hilarity and mayhem ensued with a competitive game of Mini Golf drawing crowds of curious people unsure on why a group of Panto characters running around on a sunny August day.

The cast were encouraged to rediscover their childhood at a local arcade, taking in bumper cars, dance mats and coin machines, all in the name of the traditional Panto video.

Rounding off the day, the team travelled to the atmospheric King Arthur’s Caves at The Doward, nr. Symonds Yat. These caves gave a perfect backdrop to Aladdin’s cave, as he discovers the Genie and the magical lamp.
