To celebrate Borderlines Film Festival’s 15th Birthday, (BA Hons) Graphic and Media Design students at Hereford College of Arts were given a brief to design a T-shirt that conveys some of the magic and excitement that Borderlines brings to its audiences.

For 17 days in early spring, Borderlines Film Festival screens more than 80 different films in 24 or more venues, from village halls to arts centres, across Herefordshire, Shropshire and the Marches. Over 15 years it has put on 2,400 screenings that have attracted a total of 170,000 attendances giving cinema-goers in one of the most rural and remote parts of the country access to some of the best films from all over the world, many of them before their UK release, films that they would otherwise never get to see.

The final winner was picked by Borderlines designers Elfen who are based in Cardiff and was designed by Jodie Sweeney. The winning design and the other entries can be viewed on the First Floor Canyon at The Courtyard for the duration of the Film Festival (Friday 24 February to Sunday 12 March 2017). The winning T-shirt will be produced during the Festival and a limited edition will be available to purchase.

Borderlines Film Festival would like to extend their thanks to Hereford College of Arts, The Courtyard Hereford and Elfen for supporting this competition.
