The Phoenix Youth Theatre’s Christmas Tree Festival

The Phoenix Youth Theatre had a fantastic time performing as part of St Mary’s Church Christmas Tree Festival in Ross-on-Wye on 29th November. Their three performances were inspired by the theme of kindness and showcased the incredible talent within our Youth Theatre.

Our Phoenix Kids opened the morning with a performance of The Christmasaurus, inspired by Tom Fletcher’s story. The tale follows a dinosaur who dreams of learning to fly so he can help Santa deliver presents on Christmas Eve. The group did brilliantly, confidently multi-roling as dinosaurs, Santas, and children.

Juniors Group One performed The Little Christmas Tree, a heartwarming story that reminds us how important it is to help others, no matter how big or small we are. Their performance beautifully combined dialogue, movement, and singing.

Finally, Juniors Group Two performed an adaptation of The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. After watching the animation, the group worked collaboratively to devise their own version – capturing the warmth and heart of the original while adding their own creative style.

A huge thank you to St Mary’s Church for inviting us to perform as part of such a special event. We are incredibly proud of our Youth Theatre groups and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
