Emerging Female Artists #InternationalWomensDay

THE COURTYARD and 2FACED DANCE COMPANY ARE HOSTING THEIR SECOND I.D NIGHT, this time for EMERGING FEMALE ARTISTS

As it’s #InternationalWomensDay we thought this was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our evening of emerging female artists! We put out a request for emerging female artist from all genres; Musicians, poets, filmmakers, artists, dancers, writers, actors and were bombarded with fresh new talent wanting an opportunity to showcase their work. But now they need an audience to perform to, so get booking tickets! I.D All Female Night is on Sunday 20 March, 7.30pm and tickets are just £5.

Following the great success of the first I.D. night back in November of last year, 2Faced Dance Company and The Courtyard are now preparing for the second night in the series, aimed at emerging female artists from across all artistic platforms.

The first in the series concentrated on giving dance artists a platform to showcase their work in front of a live audience, in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre. After receiving over 40 applications to perform, the evening saw nine performances from artists from as far afield as Japan, Spain and Italy.

This second I.D. event, which will be held on Sunday 20 March at 8pm, will look at giving that same platform to emerging female artists from across all artistic genres.

Kieran Shannon, Apprentice Dancer with 2Faced Dance and Compere of these events, has said:
“The first night was fantastic and we really want to build on that and open this event out to more people to be a part of it.

This time around we’ve found female artists from across the world. Musicians, poets, artists, dancers, writers, actors – we considered all applications and endeavor to create an evening to remember for all involved – performers and audiences alike.

We are aiming for each I.D. night to have a theme or niche and this one is specifically aimed at female artists. By giving emerging artists a space to perform work that they are in the process of creating or working on, we are, in turn, giving them chance to gain critical feedback from a live audience.”

You can enjoy this evening showcasing new and exciting work from a range of art forms for just £5 – so be sure to get your tickets through the box office on 01432 340555 or online at ID All Female Night.
