Free theatre tickets for keyworkers!

The Courtyard is giving back to the keyworkers who helped the UK through the coronavirus pandemic.

No one could have imagined the events of 2020 and 2021 and the past year has taken it’s toll on everyone. During that time, we have all done what we can to ensure we get through this pandemic together. For most of us that simply meant following difficult rules like lockdowns and staying away from loved ones. But, for many keyworkers that meant putting themselves on the frontline every day to fight Coronavirus.

As you will know, The Courtyard has faced its own struggles since March 2020. We had to shut our doors to the public for the first time since we opened in 1998. We have relied on financial support from the government to ensure our survival, keep our staff employed, and eventually to welcome audiences back. But we know, we wouldn’t be here if we hadn’t been so well looked after by keyworkers during that time. So, we wanted to give something back.

To celebrate being able to produce live theatre and welcome audiences in again, The Courtyard have been giving away free tickets to:

  • NHS staff
  • Key workers
  • Individuals who went above and beyond during the pandemic

Last week we were thrilled to bring Herefordshire audiences our latest production, Hopeless Romantics. And it was fantastic to have keyworkers joining us with their free tickets to enjoy the magic of theatre once again. One audience member said…

I work for Hereford County Hospital and The Courtyard Theatre very kindly provided our staff with free tickets. It was wonderful to be able to see a live show again a big THANK YOU to all involved. I also purchased a ticket for two other shows.

If you’re a keyworker and this is the first you’re hearing about it – don’t worry! The Courtyard’s offer for free tickets extends to their next production Marry Me A Little running from Tuesday 3 – Saturday 7 August.

A charming and bittersweet musical revue that features songs by Stephen Sondheim, the undisputed master of the contemporary Broadway musical.

Two single strangers, left alone in their studio apartments on a Saturday night. They pass their time with sweetly secret, unshared fantasies, never knowing that they’re just a floor away from each other and the end of their lonely dreams.
