“Fresh, bold and affecting” | 201 Dance Co present Smother

On 22 June, 201 Dance Company will be bringing Smother to The Courtyard for the last performance of their 2017 UK tour.

201 Dance Co. was founded by Andrea Walker (Artistic Director) in 2014, and creates socially responsive and accessible work. 201 Dance Co’s focus is performing challenging and innovative dance theatre that reaches diverse audiences, through a blend of urban and contemporary dance.

Having repeatedly found that hip-hop lacks powerful gay voices, 201 Dance Co. present a bold and provocative show that brings a new voice to the urban dance scene. Smother tackles themes of LGBTQ identity and relationships, addiction and obsession through fast-paced, intimate performances and hard-hitting choreography.

Can you stay true to yourself, when everything suggests you change?
