The Hey Yahs are a fun and lively eight piece party band who perform a mix of classic and modern soul, pop, blues and rock hits. Local to Herefordshire they are presenting a special show on Friday 12 January to raise money for The Courtyard’s I Heart CY fundraising appeal. I Heart CY was launched after The Courtyard received major funding cuts in 2016, to protect and develop the vital community programmes that the organisation offers and to support the venue.
The Hey Yahs first performed for The Courtyard back in 2016 at our successful Casino Night fundraising event in the Main House. This year they will be performing twice for us, firstly at the fundraiser on Friday 12 January and then again at our 20th Birthday Gala dinner on Saturday 22 September.
Steve Liddle, one of the two lead singers in the band (the other being Hannah xxx), is a Board member of The Courtyard and also director of X-Entricity Theatre Company who regularly perform at The Courtyard to great acclaim.
The Hey Yahs are booked out for the whole year at gigs right across the country so don’t miss this chance to catch them live and on your doorstep. Performing hits from great soul legends including James Brown, Aretha Franklin and The Blues Brothers as well as songs by Bruno Mars, Prince, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and more, the evening will certainly have audiences up and dancing the January blues away.
‘I’ve seen the Hey Yahs live several times and they never fail to disappoint,’ says Melanie Denning, The Courtyard’s Fundraising Manager. ‘They sing hit after hit and are a really tight band, I’ve got my tickets already and can’t think of a better way to kick start the New Year!’
The Hey Yahs will be in The Courtyard’s Main House on Friday 12 January at 7.30pm. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or Click Here.
