The Courtyard is Herefordshire’s primary arts centre, producing, hosting and supporting a wide range of participatory and non-participatory events both in the main venue in Hereford and at others throughout the county.  It is proud of its status as a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.

The Education & Participation department is responsible for a huge programme of activities, including a large and thriving youth theatre, arts-based courses and classes for all age groups, holiday workshops and work in schools throughout Herefordshire and beyond.  This is a very exciting time to come into the department as we are looking to strengthen and expand our existing work on productions and projects with the youth theatre and schools as we begin to look to the future.

We are looking for a key team player who has strong skills in delivering drama sessions for young people and who is passionate and enthusiastic about enriching young people’s lives through theatre.  The successful candidate will be delivering workshops in schools, running sessions for The Courtyard’s 400-strong youth theatre at The Courtyard and out at our satellite venues, and devising and leading holiday workshops and pop-up projects, as and when required.  Working hours are not yet set in stone and will be decided upon appointment of the role.  Some degree of flexibility will be required and Saturday working is very likely.  The successful candidate will need an Enhanced DBS check.

If you are interested in finding out more, please download the application pack. If you wish to apply you will need to complete and return the application form by the closing date.

The Courtyard is committed to encouraging diversity and eliminating discrimination. Our aim is that our workforce will be truly representative of all sections of society and that each individual feels respected and able to give their best. As part of our commitment to developing our workforce to be reflective of our communities we are particularly encouraging of applications from individuals who are ethnically diverse, disabled, LGBTQI and from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
