Matt Canny, Stage Combat Practitioner

We’re delighted to introduce Matt Canny, the practitioner who will be leading our Actors Academy: Stage Combat workshop, as well as the week-long summer workshop.

Who is Matt Canny

Matt Canny is originally from Derbyshire and spent time at The Television Workshop under the direction of Ian Smith. Matthew went on to train at LAMDA, graduating from their 3 year course in 2014. During his time there, he was awarded the ‘Lilian Baylis Award’ for outstanding talent. He has since gone on to work, not only at The Courtyard, but for Emmerdale & Corrie, as well as TV dramas for BBC, ITV and Universal. Matt has just finished filming a WW1 feature film ‘Landship’.
