With this year’s The Word on The Street just around the corner, we wanted to take a deep dive into the writers behind this exciting event!

I’m a magazine copywriter and editor based in Hereford and I love wild swimming, foraging and hiking with my family. I’d love to live on a narrowboat one day. My weird crush is David Olusoga. Although, actually, it’s not that weird.

What is your favourite location in Hereford?

It has to the Victoria Bridge. I cross it nearly every day with my daughters – we spotted an otter swimming under it early one morning. The view upstream towards the Cathedral reminds me how beautiful Hereford can be. And of course, the River Wye is very close to my heart; she’s my life’s blood!

Chaotic creative who will stay up until 3am to write a script. Got the kind of vibe that says ‘I’d sell my soul for good wifi’. Their mind? A delightful paradoxical dumpster fire of niche memes, eldritch horror, part finished projects, unfinished scripts, unhinged art, and the unwavering belief they will get their passion project done.

What is your favourite location in Hereford?

Jam Factory for its open mics, Castle Green and Bishops meadow in summer.

I am a reclusive writer who once attempted to swim The Atlantic Ocean. I have a woollen cactus called Geoff. I am also an advocate for mental health and an avid WWE fan!

What is your favourite location in Hereford?

The River Wye; sit by the river and it makes you complete…

I’m an actor and a writer, originally from Port Talbot, Wales. In my craft or sullen art, I can always be found with a romance book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.

What is your favourite location in Hereford?

I love Church Street because of its little cafes, especially The Garden Café. (I highly recommend their banana bread toast!) Also, there’s something about walking down that alley and seeing, in the distance, the Cathedral towering over the buildings that takes my breath away every time.

I came to Hereford in 1998 to work in fundraising. I never thought I would later be led to discovering so many amazing stories about the City as time went by. But as well as the history there’s something magical about the place which lets your imagination take flight – and I love it!

What is your favourite location in Hereford?

Hereford Cathedral – a place where the stones themselves tell tales and there’s still so many stories to be discovered.
