Pride & Prejudice in rehearsal

Final preparations are underway for The Courtyard’s production of Pride & Prejudice which opens the first week of October.

The Jane Austen classic will be brought to life by a pro-am cast featuring the talented members of The Courtyard’s Youth Theatre alongside professional actors. The actors playing Mr Darcy (Tom Gordon), Elizabeth Bennet (Hannah Douglas), Mr Bennet (George Telfer) and Mrs Bennet (Alison Rose) have arrived in Hereford and are currently in rehearsal with the rest of the cast.

David Durant, Associate Director of The Courtyard, says: “After spending time in the rehearsal rooms over the last few weeks I can’t wait to see the performance on stage. There is a fantastic energy between the professional actors and our Youth Theatre members which I believe will make the performance really spectacular”

 

 

 

 

 

For audience members attending the Tuesday evening performance there is an opportunity to attend a free talk from Diana White, Chair of Bath & Bristol Jane Austen Society and author of Jane Austen – The Life & Times of the Woman Behind the Book. Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre will also be exploring life in late Georgian Herefordshire in a free pre-show talk on Wednesday evening for ticket holders. Both of these events need to be pre-booked with Box Office.
