Senior Youth Theatre produced films inspired by Knife Angel visit

Our Senior Youth Theatre have produced a series of short films inspired by the Knife Angel visit, generously supported by funding from the Thistle Trust.

The Knife Angel

In June 2021, sculptor Alfie Bradley’s impressive Knife Angel piece was displayed at Hereford Cathedral. The Knife Angel is a stunning 27ft, 3.5 ton, sculpture of an angel. It is made out of 100,000 confiscated knives, received from 43 Police Forces across the UK.

Our Senior Youth Theatre embarked on a project, inspired by The Knife Angel’s visit. The group interviewed young people across Herefordshire, and created a series verbatim short films. These films were screened at The Courtyard in September 2021.

The Other Side

The Other Side is a series of films inspired by the voices of young people in Herefordshire. The words have been taken from interviews between the Youth Theatre and community, exploring the challenges and pressures many teenagers face. These films have also been inspired by the visit of The Knife Angel to Hereford, highlighting the impact of knife crime in society.
