The Courtyard’s Porridge Trail at Queenswood

The Courtyard teams up with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust for a summer of events at Queenswood Country Park

To celebrate the Senior Youth Theatre performance of Down To The Woods, we have worked with Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum to create a Porridge Trail!

Down to the Woods, is performed by the Courtyard’s Senior Youth Theatre from 19 – 22 July. The show is an immersive experience created especially for 2 to 7-year olds but can be enjoyed by the whole family.

We’re continuing the theme at Queenswood Country Park, with The Porridge Trail, perfect for ages 2 to 7 and running every day from the 8 – 23 July.

The bears need your help to find the ingredients to make their morning porridge! You’ll need to collect a trail map and activity sheet from the Visitor Centre to complete the trail successfully. Then head back to the Visitor Centre to collect your reward sticker and enter a competition to win a family ticket to this year’s children’s Christmas show at The Courtyard.

Follow the trail to find six audio points and wind the handles to hear the bears from The Courtyard’s interactive family performance of “Down To The Woods“. The bears will give you the clues you need to find your way around the woods.

The Porridge Trail will be running at Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum (Dinmore Hill Leominster HR6 0PY)
Saturday 8 – Sunday 23 July
£3 per trail.

Ellen Dorsett, Participation Manager from The Courtyard said:

“The Courtyard love teaming up with Queenswood, and with our ‘Down to The Woods’ production it was the perfect fit. The Youth Theatre are thrilled to be performing on location. Giving them the opportunity to develop valuable skills in site specific performance and Promenade Theatre. The programme of events at Queenswood over the Summer looks great and we are really excited to be a part of it.”

Queenswood’s big summer event, Bears, Beasts and Tales is being held on National Play Day, 2nd August.

There will be activities for children of all ages running throughout the woodland including: live performances by the Senior Youth Theatre group from The Courtyard; magical story tellers; flag and wand making with Hereford Community Arts; Wild Play activities; hunt the bear in our woodland play park and a journey into a world of imagination on our Summer Story Trail.
