The Head Wrap Diaries Empowerment Dance Session

Uchenna Dance will be delivering a fun and empowering dance session before performing in their show, The Head Wrap Diaries, at The Courtyard this July.

Empowerment sessions aspire to celebrate African and Caribbean heritage and customs, as well as other cultures who use head wraps. The workshop sheds light on the importance of head wraps to women, whether this is through religion, fashion, protective styling or hair loss.

The audience are invited to engage in a discussion that highlights how hair and beauty affects all women no matter their age, race, hair type or religious backgrounds. Delivered alongside movement, the sessions aim to encourage community cohesion and empower women with self-esteem issues, allowing them to celebrate themselves for who they are and feel uplifted.

The session is free to those who have tickets to The Head Wrap Diaries. As there is limited availability, these must be booked in advance.

The Head Wrap Diaries Empowerment Dance Session will be at The Courtyard on 14 July, 5pm – 6.30pm.

The Head Wrap Diaries will be in The Courtyard’s Main House on Saturday 14 July at 7.30pm. To book tickets for The Head Wrap Diaries click here, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555.
