The Most Wuthering Heights Day in Hereford High Town

On Saturday 9 August 2025 The Courtyard had the most Wuthering Heights Day in Hereford High Town.

When you hear the words Wuthering Heights day, you might think of the Yorkshire moors, ghosts, or Cathy & Heathcliff’s great love story. If you’re like us however, you immediately think of Kate Bush frolicking around some hills in a red dress. So, when it came to deciding how we were going to promote this year’s Courtyard Production of Wuthering Heights there was no hesitation about recreating the now famous “Most Wuthering Heights Days” that have been popping up internationally over the last few years. With Folkestone creating probably the most well known event where hundreds of people don red dresses and gather together to recreate Kate’s famous choreography.

On the day of the event we walked to our meeting point outside the Buttermarket in Hereford High Town. When we arrived we started to notice flashes of red in our peripheral vision – to say we were thrilled is an understatement. It’s never certain when we announce this type of event if anyone is going to turn up but, we had a fantastic turnout and everyone had gone all out with their outfits.

Our resident performing monkey, Robyn, happily took the microphone to get everyone warmed up and ready before the clock struck twelve. The time had come for the performance of a lifetime. As we swished and swayed around the town centre people stopped and stared (in awe of course). Everyone who joined us threw their whole selves in to the spirit of the event, with no time for embarrassment or fear, this was about fun and freedom – releasing our inner Kate Bushes.

When the dancing was over, we carefully selected the 2 best Kate Bush lookalikes and let the crowd decide who would win our competition to win a hamper of Wuthering Heights themed goodies including 2 tickets to the production at the beginning of October.

We’d like to thank everyone who came and joined in for their joyful contribution to this event and we hope to see them all again at the show this Autumn.

If you’d like to book tickets to Wuthering Heights you can do so on The Courtyard Website.
