Volunteer raises over £2000 for The Courtyard!

20 year old runs 4 half marathons in 7 days to raise money for The Courtyard!

20 year old Owain Denning, from Dormington in Herefordshire, ran over 84kms in just 7 days in order to raise money for The Courtyard Trust.

Owain, who has Cystic Fibrosis, loves running to stay fit. Back in April, he decided to challenge himself to run 4 half marathons in a week – that’s over 84kms – to raise money for The Courtyard arts charity in Hereford.

The Courtyard, along with the majority of businesses in the UK, closed its doors in March 2020 due to the Coronavirus (Covid19) outbreak. However, Arts Centre’s are particularly vulnerable as they will be one of the last places able to reopen, so Owain was keen to support.

Owain said:

“Staff, volunteers, visitors and users of the building are missing the many wonderful creative and sociable things that happen there every day normally. I have volunteered there as a steward, helped with fundraising events and worked on the Cafe Bar alongside some great colleagues.

Every little bit helps until we can all be back together again, raising the roof! I would like to thank everyone who has donated to help this great arts charity.”

Owain raised a total of £2,025 through his Facebook Fundraiser – Thank you so much Owain, we couldn’t be more grateful for your support!
