Welcome to our new Education practitioners
We’re delighted to welcome Lydia Stansbury and Jamie Hutton to the Education team!
My name is Lydia and I am the new Education Officer and Youth Theatre Leader at The Courtyard Theatre. I was a member of the Youth Theatre from the ages of seven to eighteen and I had a fantastic time participating in many productions, such as The Wind in the Willows, The Wizard of Oz, The Prince of Denmark and HeRo. I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Drama. I am really looking forward to combining the skills that I have gained from my degree with my previous experience of the Youth Theatre to create fun and enjoyable drama sessions. This year I will be working with a variety of Herefordshire schools as well as the Courtyard Kids, the Junior Youth Theatre and the Intermediate Youth Theatre. I am particularly looking forward to directing performances for the Inspired Festival in the spring and creating the end of term showcases for the Junior Youth Theatre.
Hi, my name is Jamie and I am the new part time Education Officer and Youth Theatre Leader. I first joined the Youth Theatre nearly 20 years ago, where I was in productions such as Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Wind in the Willows and The Comedy of Errors. I was forced to leave in 2013 when I went off to study English at University but am now delighted to be back again nearly 6 years later! In that time have had the chance to work with a variety of youth and drama groups around Hereford, including; Aspire, Shypp and a few at The Courtyard. The Courtyard has always been a big part of my life, from performing in the Youth Theatre to pulling pints behind the bar, and to have the chance to work for the Education Team offers an exciting new possibility to be a part of this amazing Theatre. I’m very much looking forward to working with lots of new faces, producing some great theatre but most of all having lots of fun with groups of talented young people.
