Business club member GABBS Solicitors to offer Will writing services this September

Gabbs Solicitors

The Courtyard is joining up with Herefordshire law firm and Courtyard Business Club member GABBS Solicitors, to offer a professional Will writing service during September, in exchange for a donation to The Courtyard charity. The suggested donation of £90 for a straightforward Will and £150 for couples Wills. This is a substantial saving on the usual fees for a professional legal service. Your donation to the courtyard will go towards the #IHEARTCY campaign, supporting our creative community programmes with people of all ages and the organisation itself.Below we hear from Sue Godwin a GABBS’ Wills Expert who has wise words about Wills and what they can mean for all of us.Sue Godwin

“Having lived in Hereford for almost 35 years, The Courtyard has played an important part in the life of my family. In our early days in Hereford, we used to attend the Nell Gwynne Theatre and I remember taking my small children to see Button Moon amongst other productions. Over the years, my family and I have enjoyed many excellent productions at The Courtyard. The pantomime has become a family tradition. Our children attended the Youth Theatre, a brilliant resource, building confidence in young people and fostering a sense of community.

We are so lucky to have this amazing facility in our city and I am pleased to be able to contribute with the launch of Wills Month in September. Unfortunately, making a Will is the ‘elephant in the room’ for many people. It is something we all know we should put in place but it is all too easy to think we have plenty of time. Sadly and too often, time overtakes us and it is only those tasked with dealing with an estate where there is no Will, who fully understand the complications we can leave behind. Often in discussion, clients tell me I have raised issues in relation to their Wills that would never have occurred to them. Your Will is far too important to take that chance. You have spent a lifetime working hard, accumulating wealth and belongings and it is essential that you ensure you protect them for your family.

It won’t be possible for everyone to participate in the September Wills Month – but we still have some slots available. And anyone seeking advice on making their Will or perhaps Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) will be more than welcome to call at GABBS’ offices in Broad Street Hereford; Chancery Lane at Hay on Wye or Alton Court Mews, Broad Street, Leominster where our friendly, family orientated teams will be pleased to assist where possible.”

Melanie Denning, fundraising manager at The Courtyard says “My husband and I rewrote our Wills using a similar legacy service organised by The Courtyard a few years ago, It was actually comforting to be able to chat through the options and our own situation with a proper expert and get it all down on paper.”

To book an appointment to make a Will or for more information, please contact Sue Godwin, quoting CYWILLS, on 01432 353481 or email sgodwin@gabbs.biz (You can choose an appointment that’s mutually convenient with GABBS on any Tuesday to Friday in September and attend one of three offices: Hereford, Hay on Wye or Leominster.)
