Cultivate@Courtyard 2024 open for submissions

We’re delighted to announce that our Cultivate@Courtyard 2024 project is now open for submissions!

What is Cultivate@Courtyard?

Cultivate is a visual arts project for local, young artists aged between 16-25.

The chosen artists will be shortlisted by a panel of judges and will then be mentored by professional artist Dermot Clarke. They will work towards producing an exhibition at The Courtyard and The Old Mayors Parlour Gallery in the Summer of 2024 with an opportunity to receive a £1000 grant. The selected artists can also receive up to £1000 for project materials.

How do I apply?

Artists wishing to be considered for this project are invited to submit a technically accomplished and resolved piece of artwork or craft for assessment, along with supporting evidence of exploration and experimentation, in the form of a sketchbook or drawings. The theme for submissions is Rejuvenate.

Applications must be submitted by Monday 29 January 2024 and can be emailed to d.clarke@hca.ac.uk or can be dropped off in person at The Courtyard. Artists wishing to drop work off must organise a date and time to do so by emailing David.durant@courtyard.org.uk.
