Genre: Documentry

Icelandic documentary that looks into the lives of 17 Icelandic women who all have one thing in common; a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum. The film aims to shed light on the role autism plays in their lives, as well as exploring the question as to why autistic women and girls have remained invisible to society for so long. Answers are offered in the words of the women themselves, and through the insight of specialists experienced in working with autistic women and girls. We also look at how a lack of understanding and proper support negatively affects the well being of these women and their families. Autistic women are gifted individuals with many talents that can be of value to society, if they are given the chance to share them. It’s time for the world to see the unseen. Foreign language with English subtitles.
