Introducing Beth Wilkinson – Assistant Director for Marry Me A Little

Introducing Beth Wilkinson as Assistant Director for Marry Me A Little

Beth recently graduated from London Academy of Music and Drama with an MA in Directing.

She commonly works with multidisciplinary forms and enjoys exploring movement within productions, highlighting the physical silences between characters.

Before graduating, Beth had worked on Shakespeare plays, devised her own work about female protests and recently directed Love Song by Abi Morgan.

Since graduating Beth has worked as the Associate Director on the musical Spring Awakening at Central School of Speech and Drama.

As a fan of musicals, I have always wanted to work on a Sondheim and can’t think of a more exciting show to start with. I wanted to work on this show as it has infinite possibilities and opportunities to play. I’m also familiar with Jason’s work and was excited to assist a director with such an exciting way of storytelling. I also wanted to work at a theatre with a strong relationship with its community and the artists it employs and I know that The Courtyard is a venue that encapsulates this.

Beth is looking forward to finally working on a Sondheim musical at the beautiful Courtyard Theatre.

After a year away from the theatre it feels good to be back. Marry Me A Little is a charming and bittersweet musical revue. It features songs by Stephen Sondheim, the undisputed master of the contemporary Broadway musical. Don’t miss it this summer at The Courtyard.
